How Invisalign works
Invisalign comes as a series of clear aligners that are custom-made to your individual smile by our Specialist Orthodontists, Dr Mike Dixon & Dr Serena Derwent. Each aligner is worn for 1–2 weeks before being replaced by the next in the series — gradually moving your teeth towards their projected final position within as little as six months.
Unlike fixed braces, there are no metal wires or brackets. This means they are virtually invisible when you wear them.

Most Invisalign treatments take between 6 and 18 months, depending on the complexity of your case. Your Specialist Orthodontist will give you a clear estimate at your consultation, and you’ll see your projected outcome in 3D before treatment begins.
You may feel mild pressure for the first day or two of each new aligner — this is normal and shows the aligners are working. Most patients describe it as much more comfortable than fixed braces.
Typically every 6–8 weeks for a quick check-in to track progress and hand over your next set of aligners. Appointments are short and straightforward.
